Happy Birthday Mjo

Happy birthday to our friend Mjo who turned 30 last week! Going to that party certainly reminded me of how close I am to that same milestone. Somehow, the idea of being 30 is sort of a shock. When you hit your 20's it's sort of like being an adult with training wheels. No one is surprised if you still behave like a child every once in a while. Once you hit 30 though there can be no question that you are a grown up. It's not that I fear being responsible or even sober(not that you are required to be serious); it's just that I can't quite see myself as a 30 year-old. I'm quite certain that I was 12 just a little while ago! I suppose it's going to happen no matter what, and I will just have to get used to it.

Psychologically, thirty is the age at which you first assess whether you're on track for being successful in life, because anything you screw up from now on can't be blamed on youth. Good luck.

I believe you've hit the nail on the head. There are no excuses left at that point.

Thank you!

Seriously though, a lot is about perception. I still think I'm in my teenage years and can eat as much ice cream as I want.

I've it said before though that 40 is the big number for guys while 30 is the number for women.

Celebration turning 30! The planning is like a rite of passage that helps you embrace what the coming decade means.

I actually think of 30s as the best decade so far: we have professional credibility and begin to reap those financial rewards, life is fairly stable as we settle into our choices, or we realize what we want and have the confidence to make it happen, and a lot of our dreams are beginning to be realized.
